"being accepted to hogwarts and sorted into gryffindor was no surprise for me. i'd been bought up in the wizarding world and both my parents were in gryffindor house so it was all sort of a given for me. i'm part of a group called the marauders - you've probably heard of us - and we made this device called the marauders map, it's pretty nifty. once a month we go to the shrieking shack for lupin because he's a werewolf, it gets us off lessons for a couple of days so it's a pretty handy disfigurement, i'd say. lupin disagrees, obviously. hogwarts is obviously like my home away from home, it's where all the good stuff happens. lessons can be complete crap, as always, but i don't mind transfiguration much because i'm pretty amazing at it, you know.

the other great thing about hogwarts is the quidditch. it's the most exhilarating game imaginable, and every match differs. i've been on the team since second year, i've played chaser every single year. it doesn't get much better than that! oh, unless you count the girls, of course. one girl in particular - lily evans. this is the bit that makes sirius really want to slap me, but i've liked her since fifth year. girls come easy to me but lily is something else, and i like the challenge. she's fiesty and independent, it's a real turn on! sirius always tells me to wake up and smell the fire, she's in love with that stupid git snape, and besides would never go for me anyway because i'm an 'arrogant toe-rag' (her words, not mine.) but i never give up a challenge. i'm determined to win her over, you'll see."
